Vintage Avon Jewelry
Shimmering Butterfly Pendant - Butterfly created by simulated inlaid opal in a goldtone setting. Encased in hand-crafted Bavarian glass. What a beauty! The pendant is 1" long on an 18" goldtone chain with a spring ring clasp. If you love butterflies or know someone who does, this is a special necklace! I believe this was introduced in the Campaign 26 brochure which is the only brochure that I am missing for 1982. I couldn't find it in any of the previous brochures and it is still showing "NEW" in the 1983 Campaign 1 brochure.
Comes in its original box.
Avon began operations in the mid 1880s in Manhattan, NY by David McConnell as the California Perfume Company (CPC). In 1939, the company changed it’s name to Avon Products, Inc. Although Avon first introduced jewelry items to hold solid perfume (glace) in 1965, it wasn't until 1971 that jewelry was officially offered with the Precious Pretenders Collection.
