Avon began operations in the mid 1880s in Manhattan, NY by David McConnell as the California Perfume Company (CPC). In 1939, the company changed it’s name to Avon Products, Inc. Although Avon first introduced jewelry items to hold solid perfume (glace) in 1965, it wasn't until 1971 that jewelry was officially offered with the Precious Pretenders Collection.
